Design at CoLab

As Director of Design, I built the team from 1 to 6 Designers. We reimagined the app and launched several solutions for our users, the latest of which was Portals. Portals is a way to help engineers collaborate with supply chain stakeholders.

My time at CoLab was focused on building a strong design culture, establishing design principles, supporting a collabortive environment, and focusing on best practices to help us do our best work. This included the following things I introduced to the organization:

• Design Sprints

• Product Design Weeks

• Design Huddles

• Customer Research Studies

We also established a dedicated Design System team of 3 designers to help us scale and deliver great UI/UX with every release. This incredibly talented team designed, coded and released design components.

I also enjoyed hosting weekly 1:1s with every designer: this was my number one priority each week. It helped me support each designer and create the best environment possible by helping me anticipate needs early.

As a team, we had weekly design demos and weekly hangs to set out time for us to share our work and get to know each other better.
